Instructions for use of new glasses

Our new glasses refresh our appearance and perfectly correct our vision. But we need to know some simple instructions for their use.

  • A strange feeling of “lightheadedness” or pain around the eyes or headache is expected at the beginning and until the first week of application. Our brain perceives the new visual data and reacts. These symptoms are expected to subside after a few days. If they do not subside, we consult our ophthalmologist and optician.
  • We use the glasses according to the instructions we were given. For example, presbyopia glasses are worn only at close work and we are not allowed to look with them at distant objects such as television, as well as move with them worn.
  • If we do not feel the glasses fit well on the face, we visit the optician to adjust their fit.
  • Trying to straighten or repair the frame ourselves can lead to breakage of the frame or lenses or its obsolescence. The optician will do it much easier and faster and usually for free.
  • Even the best lens qualities are prone to scratching. So, we clean our glasses with the cloth that accompanies them and not with tissues or with our clothes. If we want even better results, special sprays or simple cream soap and lukewarm water work perfectly. Beyond that, we pay attention to where we touch them and how we store them.
  • Other factors of deterioration are temperature (above 50 b. Celsius) and chemicals such as hairspray and hair jelly and seawater.
  • To avoid pressing on the joints of the arms, wear and remove glasses with both hands. We also avoid wearing glasses as a “cue” or hung from a cord as it weakens the frame structurally and leads to quick wear.

Glasses as a construction are sensitive. Therefore, following the above instructions will reduce the chances of damage.
