Any deviation from a strict hygiene routine can increase t
he possibility of microbial contamination in contact lens wearers.
A recent survey of 119 users reported that the presence of significant
number of bacteria increased with certain non-hygiene habits.
2/3 (66%) of cases tested positive for bacterial or fungal infection,
especially of those who wore lenses over 2 years, indicating that
old users tend to become more careless.
The researchers found that key steps to reduce infection are
proper hand washing with soap before handling lenses contact,
rinsing the case with lens cleaning fluid, .
leaving the case to air dry when empty and its use
recommended by the manufacturer of our wet case
